Well blogging has escaped me again, dammit.

Speaking of voting, Happy Election Day! I think we will all bode better minus all the politics that have been in the air (& on TV, & on the radio, & in our inboxes, & on our voicemails...).

Hope life finds you well my dears. I'll try & write again soon, promise!

that time of year...

Halloween is one of my favorite time of year. Freshly fallen leaves, crisp October air, horror movies on every channel and pumpkin flavored everything.

I thought I'd share some eerie images in the spirit of the season...

let's walk...

I usually ride my bicycle to work everyday, or at least will be until it starts to turn winter on me, but the other day was just perfect for a walk....
Hope you had a nice weekend. I had a really relaxing one, which was needed and much enjoyed :)

Yesterday I woke up at 5:30 am with a migraine, and proceeded to move quite slow throughout the day. My migraine medication barely works and leaves me physically and mentally tired, I wish I could have snuggled in bed all day...

We all have those days...

Let's hope the weekend is a bit brighter :)

This is my friend Hannah. Over the months we have worked together at American Apparel I have discovered her to be quite amazing. She came by my studio a few weeks ago & we snapped some photos. I am planning on feeding off of her creative energy, since mine has been lacking lately - so hopefully you will see more of her lovely face here on my little blog.
Thanks for gracing my blog Miss Hannah!

p.s. If you want to see more from her check out her facebook page -

That's all folks...

day trip : idaho springs

A few weeks ago Matt & I took a little day trip to the adorable town of Idaho Springs. Unfortunately I had a migraine this trip, so I didn't exactly get to enjoy the town as much as I would have liked - but at least I got some lovely photos.

Colorado has so many beautiful mountain towns, I hope to see more soon!

Later loves,

fall time novels...

Well it seems as though here in Denver we might have just skipped right over fall (it went from 80 degrees to 40 in the matter of a day), I wanted to talk a bit about some great reads for the fall season.

Colder weather really makes me want to snuggle up in a blanket, poor myself a cup of tea and devour a good book. I have been a bit hit or miss with the last several books I read, I admittedly actually read Fifty Shades of Grey... But amongst the fails, I have found some really great new books along with some old favorites were just perfect for hot cider and blankets.

1. The Secret History, by Donna Tartt. This is quite possibly my favorite novel of all time. It's about yearning to belong, friendship and murder. The story revolves around 6 closely knit greek students, and the book itself can be viewed as it's own Greek tragedy. This book isn't the easiest read, but it's well worth the effort - I think I have read it 4 times to far...

2. The Poison Tree, by Erin Kelly. Also a novel about friendship, a plain smart girl, Karen, falls hard for a dynamic and interesting girl Biba. There's drugs, love, parties and death. It is a suspenseful novel from page one.

3. Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn. I could not put down this book! For real, I think I read the nearly 500 pages in 3 days. The premise of Gone Girl is an unhappily married couple, and the wife just vanishes - did the husband do it, did he not? This novel is kind of THE talk right now in the land of books, and for good reason. It it keeps you guessing from the first few pages and I love how you really get into the brains of the main characters.

4. Middle Sex, by Jeffrey Eugenides. This book was so well written with so many historical facts I had to check twice to make sure the novel wasn't non-fiction. The narrator Cal, formerly Calliope, is a hermaphrodite, and the story of how Cal became the way he/she is starts before conception, all the way back to his/her grandparents. It is a novel full of history and the story of grappling with being different. It's kind of a harder read, but definitely perfect to cozy up with some tea.

Hope this helps next time you are at a bookstore wondering what to get! I also have to recommend Gillian Flynn's other novel Sharp Objects which I just finished this morning. I love finding new authors that have several books I can read.

What can you recommend for me?

Happy Reading,

inspired by : geometry

all imaged from pinterest:

As I mentioned, I am taking on a new jewelry project. I have had my shop daisical now for a couple years & it just hasn't had the success I hoped, also it's just not my style anymore. So my new line will be a bit more modern & really inspired by geometry. I just bought some supplies & I will be sharing the process as I go along. I think I learned a lot from my last small business, I hope this time around to get things right & of course make some $$.

See you in a few,

black on black on stripes...

Since I work for American Apparel, I am required to wear all American Apparel to work. Which is a slight challenge since I can't wear my normal wardrobe everyday, but it does give me an excuse to try new things & go shopping.

I just got this shawl a few weeks ago & I can tell it is going to be one of my staples this fall season, both at work & outside of work. I like sweaters & shawls that double as blankets...

Till next time my dears,

Matt & I were going through some photos to print, I edited them all pretty & figured I would share..
photo locations : 1. Aspen trees in Aspen, CO. 2. My photo in Loveland, CO, Matt's in Boulder, CO. 3. View on the the drive to Aspen, CO. 4. Red Rocks, CO. 5. Plains Conservation Center Aurora, CO. 6. Telluride, CO.

Really makes me realize how beautiful Colorado is!

See you soon,

i'm back.

You may (or more likely may have not) noticed I have been pretty absent on the old blogosphere lately. I don't really have much of an excuse except for I have been in a bit of a creative slump.

I am trying to get back into the grove of things, & change things up a bit. You may notice that my blog looks a bit different, & I am in the process of working on a new jewelry line. I am really hoping that for reals this time I am back. So hello there again & let's hang out again real soon...

See you again soon friends.
