vintage bathing suits...

Now that spring is finally here, I think it is time to look forward to summer :)

Summer means bathing suits (scary I know!). Vintage bathing suits were a whole lot less scary then the Victoria's Secret bikini's of today. I am a tiny girl, but I swear modern day bikini bottoms will just not cover my bum! So I have been dreaming of more modest, but still sexy vintage bathing suits. What do you think about modern bikini's vs. vintage ones???

    I love the rouching on old suits. I found one at Target a couple of years ago that looks pretty similar to some of these. So flattering!

    I agree! no bum coverage! I'm tiny too and I can't help but feel self conscious when SO much of me is exposed. I'm glad to see more vintage styled, modest bathing suits on the market this year. Modcloth and shop ruche are carrying the more modest styles this year. Of course it's difficult to choose a bathing suit online without being able to try.

    There is a bathing suit designer here Portland that has some vintage styles. I don't actually own one so I don't know how they fit but some of them are pretty cute. http://www.popinaswimwear.com/

    Those swimsuits are all so cute and sexy! It's funny to think that nowadays some people were something like that out on the street - as an outfit. Ah, those were sweet and innocent times...
