I don't often talk about reading here on pretty little vintage, however books & reading are a huge passion of mine. With my new American Apparel job I take public transit so I have been reading a LOT lately. I know there are a lot of other readers out there so I thought it would be fun to share reviews of the books I read.
One of the last books I read was A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff...
I was pretty excited to read this novel, I read good reviews - plus it has the word vintage in the title, so I knew it would be up my alley! This book was a great read, especially if you are a vintage lover. It touched a lot on vintage clothing, the main character, Pheobe, owns a high-end vintage dress shop, but it went further than just chiffon...
While the vintage clothing aspect was really interesting, the novel really had a lot to say about friendship and forgiveness - not just forgiving others, but forgiving ourselves. There are two passionate stories of friendship in this novel, both which make one appreciate there own friendships and realize how everyone makes mistakes. There is also a little romance thrown in there for good measure!
A Vintage Affair was a great read, there are a few story lines that really keep you interested - I couldn't stop flipping pages! The stories were really moving, and even if you aren't a fan of vintage clothing it is still an excellent and intriguing novel.
Rating :
The next book I will be reviewing it Out: A Novel by Natsuo Kirino. This book is a total 180 from A Vintage Affair, highlighting murder, the power of friendship, loneliness and passion.
Let me know if you like the idea of book reviews! Or if you have a great book you could recommend I am looking for new novels to read.
I appreciate any input!
xo,
I love book reviews! I have been having an affair with ebooks lately. This must be fueled by the availability of Kindle for iPhones, PCs and Macs and by the dollar bookstore at my favorite mall.

I took your suggestion and read the book. It wasn't too bad. I definitely like the references to the clothes. Since I'm a newbie with all things fashion I actually had to google some stuff and I was like..oo pretty.
