This weeks featured seller is Katie from DoxyDame.
Her shop is filled with really pretty jewelry & accessories made with up-cycled & repurposed materials. Her photos are also very lovely & I think her shop is very inspiring! Not to mention her prices are super reasonable!
There is really no excuse not to stop by and pick up own of her jewels for your very own.
Take a peek at some of my favorite items from her shop, along with an interview with DoxyDame's Katie...
Your shop is filled with such amazing beautiful items…where do you get your inspiration from?
Even before I knew what I was doing, I would always throw in pops of bold color in everything I did. From painting 1 nail on my finger ruby red amongst gray, to a random pink pillow in a black and white room. I think that my inspiration comes a lot from seeing these colors in a different perspective than just a spectrum. I like to view them as moods and emotions and even memories. A lot of times the colors just speak to me and draw me in.
So that explains a great deal about my current obsession with rhinestones. They come in a million colors and they can look so diverse and unique just by using them with different metals. The same exact color can be goth, bridal glam, grungy, or maternal. It really is just how you put the palette to use for you.
Shock, Repurposed Rhinestone Crystal Necklace Black
You use a lot of amazing vintage rhinestones in your designs the colors are gorgeous, what drew you to work with these vintage materials?
Well besides what I've written above. It would just have to be the quality. There is always something better about old, previously loved things. Things that may have had a purpose, but have been discarded.. or things that have been used for years and years and altering them to fit modern needs and wants. I love using vintage rhinestones especially, because the modern counterparts just do not look the same. Yes they may sparkle a bit more, but their depth is non-existant. It is also very rewarding to find these pieces a new home, that should have had a home long ago. Also, they've conspired to seduce me with their glittery facets and bodacious bold colors insisting I relieve them of their crusty paper packaging...
Beast, Vintage Glass Rhinestone Earrings Madeira Topaz Brass
What is your favorite thing about designing and selling jewelry?
Besides being addicted to coffee, so therefore not sleeping because I am constantly equipped with a pair of pliers in each hand... let's see... it definitely has to be the feedback from people that have chosen my own items to be a part of their permanent jewelry wardrobe. It definitely makes my obsession worthwhile. I could sit here all day and make them for myself, but it doesn't make me feel good to do that as much as making them for someone else. I always want to make things for people, and I just love being able to give someone something that they saw once, and just had to have. It's more rewarding than chocolate... sometimes...

Can we find you anywhere else (twitter, facebook, blogger?)?
Sure! I cannot guarantee how dedicated I am to my blog or Twitter, but I am fairly active on Facebook. You can follow me on all three though!
Anthophila, Bee Bobby Hair Pin Raw Brass
Any final little tid bits you would like to share? Promotions, etc?
Anytime there is a sale, I will usually put it in my shop announcement. My birthday isn't until June 4, but I always do something outrageously crazy then! But with the holidays coming up, well, just stay tuned!
