Thursday night was Westword's Whiteout fashion show. I had a really great time & enjoyed the show. I grabbed a good spot & snapped tons of photos of the local Denver fashions...

last night...

Last night we went to a fashion event called White Out. The Colorado Symphony did a little performance, there was a fashion show & free wine. I took over 200 photos, so I have plenty to share with you. Here's some outfit photos from the night...

Book review time!

The Book : Under The Banner of Heaven

The Author : Jon Krakauer

The Genre : Investigative Non-Fiction

My Rating : 7 out of 10 Stars

I just finished Under the Banner of Heaven a Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer a few days ago. It was a pretty eye opening piece of nonfiction. If you aren't familiar with the book, it focuses on the murder of a woman and her baby, which were fueled by a fundamentalist Mormon religious "revelation".

Beyond the murder, the novel delves deeply into the Mormon faith. From John Smith founding the religion in the late 1800's to modern day Mormonism, & further discussed is the fundamentalist groups of the Mormon faith. This novel is very eye opening & very informative. I learned a lot about a Religion I knew very little about - along with a general understanding of those that practice fundamentalist forms of religion.

After finishing this novel one is left with many questions about the power & validity of faith. Definitely worth the read...

The next book I will be reviewing is Don't Breath A Word by : Jennifer McMahon. I'm speeding through this one so you can expect a review soon!
